    Our Programs

    Program Options

    Intensive Residential Recovery Program

For clients who are new in recovery, who have had a recent relapse, who need stabilization for their dual diagnosis or those needing extra support and supervision, we offer our Intensive Residential Recovery Program. This is our highest level of care and provides the appropriate structure to assure that each client is safe and nurtured as they begin to build the foundation for long term recovery.

    Transitional Living Program

For clients who have completed a primary treatment program at another facility or who have completed level one at Exodus Residential Recovery Systems, we offer a Transitional Living Program. This level of care combines our supervised living environment with our intensive outpatient program and strong 12-step participation. Clients at this level are eligible for additional privileges such as cell phone and computer use, offsite passes with approved persons and over time may seek part time employment, volunteer work or educational courses.

    Intensive Outpatient Program

Our intensive outpatient program is designed to meet the needs of those clients who no longer require a structured living environment yet need ongoing therapeutic support in their sobriety and recovery from dual diagnosis. We also serve those who live in the Los Angeles area who are residing in nearby sober living homes, are unable or do not need to reside in a structured living environment.

    Treatment Components

    Level Systems

At Exodus Residential Recovery Systems we offer several levels of care that provide varying degrees of structure and privileges, depending on the needs of each client. Not everyone will start on level one or finish in a certain amount of time. Our clients work at their own pace, on their specific issues. We meet you where you are at the moment you enter our program.

Our skilled clinicians spend time getting to know each new client and assessing just what their needs are. This assessment is reviewed by our multidisciplinary treatment team and they begin to develop an individualized treatment plan upon admission. Every client is involved in this process and works with the team to set appropriate goals.

When specific clinical and treatment goals are met and all level assignments have been completed, clients are able to submit their request for a level change that will then be reviewed in our Clinical Staff Meeting.

    Dual Diagnosis

Our excellent clinical staff is experienced in working with clients who are challenged with dual diagnosis. At Exodus Residential Recovery Systems co-occurring disorders, such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar, ADD, and cross addictions (food, love, sex, co-dependency, gambling, etc.) are treated with a combination of individual and group counseling, psycho-education, psychiatry, cognitive behavioral and process therapies.

Because our program is highly individualized for each and every one of our clients, we are able to focus on the issues that need to be addressed in the ways in which their unique healing journey dictates. We find many addictions are intertwined with depression, anxiety, unresolved anger and grief or other emotional disorders and it is important to treat each issue and not only the addiction.

Our executive clinical director, Steven Chatoff, RN  has over thirty years experience working with dually diagnosed clients and brings a wealth of knowledge to our clinical programming.

    Personal Health and Wellness

At Exodus, we believe in a holistic approach, treating the mind, body and spirit. Learning to take care of your health is an important part of recovery. For this reason, we offer a variety of services that promote a healthier and more positive way to live. This includes daily meditation, yoga, nutritional counseling, spirituality groups and daily exercise. A membership to a wonderful local gym is included in each clients tuition.

Integrating the body, mind and spirit is a part of the overall healing process that makes recovery possible.

    Family Therapy

Family involvement is an important part of the program at Exodus Residential Recovery Systems. Our goal is to help clients rebuild and strengthen healthy bonds between family and friends. We understand that the disease of addiction can destroy trust and relationships. We provide a safe environment in which to begin to rebuild these relationships, supporting both the client and family members.

We are happy to provide education and coaching for family members and to help guide them through these difficult times. Family involvement is part of the treatment program for each client and their loved ones. We offer a multi family therapy group on Saturday mornings, individual family sessions and coaching via telephone as needed.

    Relapse Prevention

Relapse prevention is a priority at Exodus Residential Recovery Systems. We encourage our clients to give themselves the time they need to focus on recovery, without the stress of dealing with “everyday” life. The program at Exodus greatly enhances long term sobriety and healing by providing educational and therapeutic groups that focus on developing positive coping mechanisms and the identification of relapse triggers and behaviors while learning healthy ways to self intervene.

Our treatment philosophy embraces the importance of a lifestyle and a living situation which is conductive to sobriety. Clients are taught how to work a strong 12-step program, how to obtain and utilize a sponsor and how create a 12-step support system they can take back home with them, how to notice their relapse triggers and how to intervene in a healthy way. Additionally our clients are given life skills such as budgeting, communication and interpersonal skills, boundaries and anger management to better equip them for the stressors of everyday life.

Each client leaves Exodus with a specific aftercare plan and the support they need to stay sober. We make a lifetime commitment to help guide each client in their recovery.

    12-Step Program

The 12-steps and 12-traditions are an integral part of the recovery program at Exodus Residential Recovery Systems. We have witnessed firsthand the remarkable impact that 12-step programs can have on a person’s ability to live a healthy life in sobriety. From the intimate relationship that develops with your sponsor to the sense of fellowship that lets you know you are never alone, to the promise of a spiritual awakening, we know the value of the 12-step philosophy.

This is why we developed just the right mix of traditional 12-step based treatment with evidenced based medical and psychotherapeutic techniques to bring you the most comprehensive and integrative treatment program possible.

    Alumni Program

Exodus alumni are an integral part of our program as each client becomes a member of our extended family. We encourage our alumni to come back and visit for the day and share their wisdom and experience with our new clients. When clients leave Exodus, equipped with al the tools and support they need, we celebrate as they join our extended alumni family
